I'm pleased to announce the latest Nordic PC system line-up featuring Windows 7. Here's a breakdown of the major changes besides Windows:
- Odin changes very little actually with NVIDIA's very strong GeForce 295 at the helm and a Core i7 950. I've updated the power supply to a more efficient 850 watt model from Corsair.
- Thor brings in a new power supply aswell, a 650 watt Corsair model. Users thinking of upgrading to a second video card down the road will want to upgrade to the 850 in Odin.
- Loki has a mildly lighter-weight CPU this time around to reduce power consumption and to reduce noise. The e8500 is still available as an upgrade though, as is a new GT220 GPU from NVIDIA.
- Njord SLI inherits the new Core i5 platform from Njord 1156, and Thor's 650 watt power supply. This system is also Crossfire ready, if you really want to get in on DirectX 11 graphics now.
- Njord Crossfire keeps the Phenom II X3, but switches the motherboard to support DDR3 memory. I've also dropped an XFX 5770 card in there for supreme performance at this price point.
- Njord 1156 replaced Njord 775 for the Windows 7 launch, and will quickly become a favorite among business users and home power users alike. The Core i5 with 4GB of RAM is a very fast platform, as future-proof as possible in this world.
- Magni's motherboard was swapped from the 8300-based model to an 8200-based one, simply because the price difference wasn't worth the small performance boost. If you want to game on a Magni, you'll want to plug in one of the new GT220's at least.
Wrapping it up, even though I've got some really good updates in there, and DDR pricing is on the way up, all of the system costs are essentially the same. I've got a system in there for everyone, from the small and quiet Loki to the everyday-worker Magni, to the "future-proof" Njord 1156, to the gamer's Njords, Thor and Odin. Of course I'll also custom build what every combination you would like, so hop over to the contact form and let's get started on your perfect PC today!
